Open House and Dedication

An open house for the newly constructed Saratoga Springs Utah Temple will begin with a media day on Monday, April 10, followed by private tours for invited guests from April 11–14, 2023. Public tours will begin on Saturday, April 15, and continue through Saturday, July 8, 2023, with no tours held on Sundays. President Henry B. Eyring of the First Presidency will preside at the dedication on Sunday, August 13, 2023. The dedicatory sessions will be broadcast to all units in the temple district at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, and 3:00 p.m.1

Groundbreaking Ceremony

On October 19, 2019, Elder Craig C. Christensen, president of the Utah Area, presided at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple. In his remarks, he spoke of an experience he had walking the temple site a month earlier: "I realized…how this particular temple will bless many individuals and families, including your children, your marriages, your families, and, especially, many of your ancestors." He added: "This is the place where your children and families will be protected from the evils that are ever present in the world today, and to make sacred covenants with the Lord." His words reached an audience of tens of thousands of members and guests gathered both at the temple site and at local meetinghouses. Following the formal proceedings, attendees were invited to take pictures and turn a shovelful of dirt to commemorate the historic occasion.2

Temple Quote

"And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water. And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him."
—Exodus 40:12–13

A Sacred House of the Lord | Washington D C Temple | Faith To Act

Church Releases First Virtual
Tour of Historic Washington
D.C. Temple

Open house welcomes 100,000 visitors so far

Today marks the public launch of a special virtual tour of the historic Washington D.C. Temple

of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The tour, now available online, takes

visitors on a guided journey of the interior of the temple led by Elder Gary E. Stevenson of

the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and his wife, Lesa, along with Elder Dale G. Renlund,

also of the Quorum of theTwelve Apostles, and his wife, Ruth.

“A temple is the most sacred place of worship in our Church, and we are delighted that you

would join us for a tour,” said Elder Renlund. The tour comes as the committee overseeing

the ongoing public open house of the temple announces an important milestone: 100,000

visitors have visited the temple since it opened its doors to the public on April 18, 2022.

Since that time, groups including national media outlets, invited guests from government

and embassies in Washington, friends and neighbors and local members of the Church

have been able to tour the interior of this landmark located just outside the nation’s capital.

“Jesus Christ is the central focus of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and our

temples,” says Sister Stevenson in the video. “We regard the temple as ‘the house of the

Lord.’ As you enter the temple, you will notice the beautiful paintings and other artwork

that turn our hearts and thoughts towards Christ and His gospel.”

This is the first opportunity in 48 years that this temple has been open to the public. The

temple was originally dedicated by Church President Spencer W. Kimball in 1974.

For those unable to attend in person due to scheduling or traveling constraints, this video

allows the two senior Church leaders to virtually take visitors through the temple.

This nearly 12-minute virtual tour is the first time the Church has made a tool of this kind

available to the public since the Rome Italy Temple opened its doors in 2019.

The Church has 282 temples in operation, under construction or announced around the

world. Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are the most sacred

places of worship. Prior to the dedication of a temple, the public is invited to attend an

open house to see the beauty of the temple and learn about the commitments Church

members make with Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Washington D.C. Temple in-person open house will continue through June 11, 2022.

Open house ticket information is available at dctemple.org.

Latter-day Saint apostles take viewers on 'unprecedented' virtual tour of Rome temple

The ROME, ITALY temple will be dedicated this Sunday, March 10, 2019.  It is the first time in history that all 12 apostles along with the First Presidency will be at a temple dedication outside of the U.S.A. all together.

SALT LAKE CITY — For many outside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the church’s temples may seem a mystery.
Only faithful members of the church are invited to participate in what Latter-day Saints believe to be sacred rituals and ceremonies inside the temple — though the public is welcome to tour the buildings before they are dedicated for sacred use.
In an “unprecedented” new video released Thursday, however, two Latter-day Saint apostles walk viewers through a virtual tour of the newly-constructed Rome, Italy, temple and explain the symbolism, rooms and rituals inside.

#LightTheWorld - December 1-31, 2018

For the month of December our family has joined millions of other Christians around the world to take part in a worldwide effort to #LightTheWorld.  The goal is to share goodness and light by serving others as Christ did while He was upon the earth.  This initiative helps us to reflect upon the Savior's life and ministry and honor and serve Him. As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ and remember His good works we are encouraged to #LightTheWorld and #ShareGoodness!  We are inspired to #GiveAsHeGave

Baptism by Immersion

Today was a very special day for our family and this young man.  I had the privilege and opportunity to baptize my son and to confirm him a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  This was a day I highly anticipated from the moment he was born into our family until today, 8 years later to be a part of his special day.  He is our first born of three children and was very excited to be baptized.  As his parents we have made a diligent effort in raising and teaching our children in a Christ centered home.  We strive to teach them the importance of following Jesus Christ and becoming a disciple for Him.  Our son has been very active and involved in primary at church as well since he was small and able to walk and has learned of His Savior's love for him.

As His father I am very pleased with his decision to follow our Savior, Jesus Christ into the waters of baptism.  As a new member of the church, he promised and covenanted to take upon him the name of Jesus Christ, to follow Him and keep His commandments.  He has chosen to be obedient to Christ's command to Come Follow Him and be baptized in His name.

In return our Heavenly Father has blessed and promised my son to have the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  This Gift is the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, a member of the Godhead, to lead and guide him in the paths of safety.  He is a teacher of all truth and a comforter for all who are received unto baptism by authority.

26 But the Comforterwhich is the Holy Ghostwhom the Father will send in my namehe shall   teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever have said unto you.

Baptism April 7, 2018
Riverside California Stake

This was a very special and sacred day.  The spirit was very strong to be at our Stake baptism and see my son along with six other eight year olds being baptized.  We each took our turn as a ward to be in the baptismal room with our family and ward members.  I found a sister in our neighboring stake who makes baptismal towels with the name and date of baptism and a shield saying CTR - "Choose The Right."   I presented this to Max right before his baptism.  He was excited and now has a clean, white towel to remind him of his baptismal day.

The spirit was very strong and I got emotional confirming and blessing my son with the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  His blessing was beautiful and Heavenly Father blessed him with many promises and traits.  It was a very neat experience and one I look forward to having again with my other children.

Maxwell was excited to get a new suit and dress more like dad and the missionaries.  He got a new tie with his initials as well and looked very sharp for his special day.

Acts 2:38

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the HolyGhost.

Articles of Faith 1:4

We believe that the first principles and aordinances of the Gospel are: first, bFaith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, cRepentance; third, dBaptism by eimmersion for the fremission of sins; fourth, Laying on of ghands for the hgift of the Holy Ghost.

Music & The Spoken Word - Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Music & the Spoken Word: A Week in the Life

The dedication, talent, and service of so many make this beautiful and uplifting music possible.  Enjoy!

“Music is given of God to further his purposes. Sweet melodies mellow the souls of men and help prepare them for the gospel. After men receive the truth, songs of praise to Deity help to sanctify and cleanse their souls.”
-- Elder Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine (1966), 521

One of my favorite parts of the Sabbath day is the beautiful music that is played and sung at church.  From our local worship services to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir & The Spoken Word on television and the Internet it always uplifts and inspires me to become a better person.  It brings a spirit of peace, happiness, and pure joy into my heart.  The music moves me and causes me to be more grateful for each of my blessings from our loving Heavenly Father.  Throughout the week I often turn on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir YouTube channel when I'm unwinding in the evening or working on tasks for my businesses.

October 22, 2017 - Music & The Spoken Word

“The singing of our sacred hymns, written by the servants of God, has a powerful effect in converting people to the principles of the Gospel, and in promoting peace and spiritual growth.”
-- President Heber J. Grant, Improvement Era, Sept. 1940, 522

This is one of my favorite hymnals...

Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing - Mormon Tabernacle Choir

A very beautiful rendition of this song...

The Prayer - Katherine Jenkins and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

“Music is truly the universal language, and when it is excellently expressed how deeply it moves our souls.”
-- President David O. McKay, in Conference Report, Apr. 1945, 119
