Temples, Rededication, and Tolerance?

Today my wife and I attended a regional conference here in Mesa, Arizona. The conference was broadcast via satellite from Salt Lake City to the 88 stakes here in Arizona. Elder Bruce C. Hafen of the Seventy and President Boyd K. Packer of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke to us.
Elder Hafen taught about the history of Latter-day Saints in Arizona from the early beginning and confirmed how a rose has blossomed in this desert land where now more than 400,000 Saints reside and call home. Mesa currently has a temple and the Snowflake temple was built a few years ago. Now ground has been broken and dedicated for 3 more temples. One in Phoenix, Gilbert, and Hila Valley. He encouraged us as Latter-day Saints to rededicate our lives to the Lord, Jesus Christ and consecrate ourselves as true disciples of Him, who is the head of this church. He said there is a big difference between saying you are an active member of the church and/or you are consecrated to the cause of the kingdom every single day of the year.President Packer then shared his experiences in Arizona throughout his life and recalls when he was training to be a pilot for world war II here. He had a close call to death experience and thanks the Lord for his preservation of life. He recounted this experience due to his diligent, righteous choices as a young man then. He then spoke about the upcoming votings on Tuesday and spoke about Prop 8 in California and prop 102 here in Arizona. He mentioned that the word tolerance keeps popping up and explained that as the brethren follow these moral issues they are very concerned. He told us that we tolerate all people, but we cannot tolerate transgression!
